1. Brief Intro and Overview of the Session   -  J Boettcher, CREN

Intro will provide overall framework for asynchronous /flexible learning
initiatives and goals/issues of the workshop.


8:15 to 8:45 a.m. "Status of the use of CBT Modules at Berkeley" Jack
McCredie, Berkeley

Case study example -- Description of the technical and policy issues in
providing training for technical IT professionals. Jack will provide an
update on the status of implementation and use of the CBT training modules
at Berkeley. This discussion will solicit input


8:45 to 9:45 a.m. 'Designing, Developing and Delivering of Asynchronous
Learning Programs (ALN) for Students - Penn State's World Campus Initiative'
John T. Harwood, Center for Academic Computing, Penn State and
Larry Ragan, Continuing and Distance Education, Penn State.

This section will focus on the design, development and delivery issues for
student programs offered in an asynchronous mode.  This will include the
description of the technical infrastructure and policy issues in providing
learning to students in ALN environments.


9:45 to 10:15 a.m.  "Coming Support Trends - 'Course Web' and Course Site
Generators."   Anne Stunden, Cornell

The landscape is changing for support of ALN courses. The National
Association of College Book Stores is launching a major development effort
in a product called Course-Web;  Course Site generators to assist faculty in
developing web sites for their classes are also ramping up. Anne will
provide a quick look at these two issues.


10:15 to 10:30 a.m. Questions and Wrap-up and link to ongoing focus groups.
