Traveling to Georgetown

After a long trip, the best way to get to the hotel is a cab. Make sure you tell the driver the Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center via Med Center entrance #1 (Reservoir Road at 38th Street NW).

Now, if you want to be green, you can take Metro and the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (lovingly known as GUTS) with two suggested routes as follows:

• Route #1 - Easy First (5 stops on one train), Hard Later (more walking uphill)

  At DCA (Reagan/National), take a BLUE line train to ROSSLYN. At the end of the very long escalator, exit the system, do a U turn, and walk towards North Moore Street. Make a left and walk one block North. Cross 19th Street and you'll be at the GUTS stop. Take GUTS to campus bus stop #4 (see map). From the bus stop walk north on the road to the Northwest corner of the Leavey Center to the hotel entrance (this is a moderately steep incline the whole way, and none too scenic). Or walk up the hill just past the playing field, enter the McDonough School of Business (a quick right and then a quick left) at the crest of the hill. At first hallway, turn left and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Proceed north on the 3rd floor to the exit, cross a small patio, enter the Leavey Center, turn left. At the end of the hall, turn right and proceed to the lobby of the hotel. Distance from bus stop to lobby: .3 mile approx.

  NB: This is the easy, green route to DCA on the way home and is much simplifed in reverse order.

• Route #2 - Hard First (more train travel and transfers), Easy Later (less walking with relative ease)

  At DCA, take a YELLOW line train to GALLERY PLACE / CHINATOWN. Go up one level and transfer to a RED line train to DUPONT CIRCLE. At the Dupont Circle station, take the exit that is towards the direction of the train that you just left. At the top of the very long escalator (at the corner of 20th & Q), turn left and go one block south to Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. Cross 20th Street. The GUTS stop is just beyond the corner at 20th & Mass Ave. The bus will let you off at Kober-Cogan at stop #1 on the map. You'll have a very short walk from the bus stop to the Northwest corner of the Leavey Center where the entrance to the conference hotel is located. Distance from bus stop to lobby: .1 mile approx.
