Here is the first round of information for the May 2004 CSG Workshop
and Meeting to be held May 5-7, 2004 at University of Virginia.
Conference Hotel/Meeting space:
The workshop/meeting will be held at the Boar's Head Inn. See
http://www.boarsheadinn.com/. You may make your reservation by calling
1-800-476-1988. We have a room block of 24 rooms per night. The
rooms are at a discount rate of $199.00 + tax and an $8 resort fee.
Please make your reservations by the cutoff date of April 4.
The hotel will extend the rate for the weekend if you would like extra
nights, it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Alternative Conference Hotel:
There is another hotel available, The Best Western Cavalier, for $70
per night. They can be reached at 434-296-8111 or 888-882-2129. See
http://www.virginia.edu/placestostay.html. This hotel is about 2 miles
from the Boar's Head Inn. We will be running a shuttle morning and
evening between the hotels. There is no CSG room block at this
hotel, so rooms are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Nearest Airports:
Charlottesville and Richmond
Airport Transportation:
If you tell the reservation clerk at the Boar's Head Inn they will
arrage to pick you up at the Charlottesville airport. The Cavalier
also has a shuttle from the Charlottesville airport to the hotel. The
drive from the Richmond airport is about 1 1/2 hours.
Driving directions to the Boar's Head Inn:
From the North - Travel Route 29 South to Charlottesville. Take the
Route 250 West Bypass to the third exit, Route 250 West. At the
traffic light, turn left onto Route 250 and drive west for one mile.
The entrance to the Inn will be on your left.
From the South - Travel Route 29 North to Charlottesville. Pass
under the I-64 junction and continue 1.5 miles to the Route 250
West exit. Turn left onto Route 250 and drive west for one mile.
The entrance to the Inn will be on your left.
From East or West - Travel I-64 to Exit 118-B in Charlottesville.
Continue 1.5 miles and exit at Route 250 West. Turn left onto Route
250 and drive one mile. The entrance to the Inn will be on your
left.
Driving directions to the Cavalier Inn:
From the north: Proceed south on Route 29 (Emmet Street) through
several traffic lights. Drive under the Routes 29/250 bypass (an
overpass), stay on Route 29 Business for 1.7 miles. From the overpass
continue straight through 3 traffic lights and you will see the
Cavalier Inn on your right just before reaching the 4th traffic
light at the intersection of Route 29 Business (Emmet St.) and Ivy
Rd.
From the east, west and south: From I-64, take Exit 118B. Take 2nd
exit off the 250/29 bypass. Turn right on to Route 250 business
east. You will see the Cavalier Inn on your left as you approach
the 3rd traffic light. At the intersection of Route 29 Business
(Emmet St.) and Ivy Road.
Conference Venue:
The Workshops and Meeting will be held in the Ballroom of the
Boar's Head Inn. Messages may be left at 434 296 2181; mention
you're leaving a message for a Common Solutions Group meeting attendee.
Parking at Hotel:
The resort fee at the Boar's Head Inn covers parking.
Parking at the Cavalier is free.
Conference Meals:
Continental breakfast and break services will be provided for
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Group lunches and dinners will be
provided on Wednesday and Thursday. Box lunches will be provided at
the close of the CSG meeting on Friday.
