This newly funded center is based at the University of Oxford. The speaker
will address the following topics:

- How the need for the advisory service was identified. Whose idea was it?
  Why was it felt such a service was needed and why at this time?
- How the solicitation was done by the Joint Information Systems Committee
  (description of the call for proposals and the selection criteria)
- What Oxford proposed in its response: Services, workshops, policy agenda,
  technical agenda, ...
- What has the Advisory Service learned in the first two months about the
  interest/demand from UK higher education?
- What advice does the Advisory Service have for U.S. universities in terms
  of what should be doing in this country?
- Are there opportunities for cooperation between the U.S. and UK (or even
  more globally)?
