                                    ¹Some O1a indexes are password-protected; access given by Lauinger staff on request to GU patrons (if in database) in person or by phone.

Note: The preceding matrix shows the scope of access under Shibboleth that is available to different patron categories on the basis of:

(1) current licenses with listed vendors (regarding authorized users, simultaneous logons, geographic areas, available resources, and navigation/indexing aids),

(2) current or permitted inclusion in NetID,

(3) current agreements among GU libraries regarding licenses,

(4) current practice of providing links to other GU library websites and therefore a wider selection of databases,

(5) current policies for entry into libraries,

(6) current scope of access according to patron categories permitted by our libraries, and

(7) current practices of shielding access that is technically available on the basis of Internet Protocol restrictions.

 

 

Not taken into account are

(a) charges on a per search basis as distinct from annual license (and the extent to which passwords may occasionally be restricted for budgetary purposes).
