Good afternoon all,
Here is the first round of information for the May CSG Workshops and
Meeting to be held May 10th through 12th, 2000 at the University of
Michigan, in Ann Arbor Michigan.
Conference Hotel:
The hotel is the Bell Tower, 300 S Thayer St. They can be reached
at 1.800.562.3559 or via the web at http://www.belltowerhotel.com.
They have reserved a block of 50 rooms for us for Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday nights. PLEASE HAVE YOUR RESERVATION IN BY THE CUTOFF
DATE OF April 9, 2000. The rooms are at the discount rate of $125.00
per night for single occupancy or $140.00 per night for double
occupancy. Check-in time is 4pm check-out time is 12 noon.
Guestrooms reserved for the Common Solutions Group will be held until
April 9, 2000. Any reservations not booked by this date will be on a
First-come, first-served basis at the best available rate.
Nearest Airport:
Detroit Metro - approximately 30 miles from Ann Arbor, via I-94.
Transportation from Airport:
The hotel does not provide transportation from Detroit Metro. Shuttle
services are available ($22.00 per person, one-way) from Commuter
Shuttle service 1.800.488.7433. The cab fare from the Airport to Ann
Arbor is about $45.00.
Driving directions to the hotel from the airport:
Take I-94 west from the airport to exit 177 (State St. exit) in Ann
Arbor. Take State north 2.5 miles to the corner of State and
Washington. Turn right (east) on Washington, and go one short block to
Thayer St. Turn right on Thayer, and the Bell Tower Hotel will be on
the right about 1/2 way down the block. The hotel provides free
complimentary valet parking. Please visit the Bell Tower Hotel web
page for a map of the area (under "University Location").
Conference Venue:
All meetings will be held at the Michigan League, within easy walking
distance of the Bell Tower Hotel. Turn right (south) going out of the
hotel, walk to North University St, and turn left (east). Walk past
Hill Auditorium on the left; the next building on the left will be the
Michigan League (corner of North University and Fletcher St). Go in
the door nearest to North University and take the stairs to the second
floor. Shuttles will be provided in case of inclement weather.
Network Support:
Wired and wireless network support will be provided during the CSG
workshops and meeting. Please bring your own IEEE 802.11-compliant
direct sequence (DSSS) wireless cards; we only have a few available for
loan. We may use Lucent or Apple access points. Our access points
will be 11 Mbps and will work with 2 Mbps 802.11 DSSS cards also.
Conference Meals: Group lunches and dinners will be provided on
Wednesday and Thursday. Box lunches will be provided at the close of
the CSG meeting on Friday. Continental breakfast will be provided for
all three days.
